LADY BEAST – Metal Immortal EP review

LADY BEAST – Metal Immortal EP
Inferno Records
I have already presented the band’s debut album which was released from Inferno Records a year ago. It was a release that was introducing to us a new band moving in the fields of traditional heavy metal; a band that actually had something to give to the listener and not just copy the big names of this genre. “Metal Immortal” is their new effort which is an EP that includes 4 new compositions and it also introduces their new lead guitarist, Andy Ramage.

LADY BEAST might come from the United States, but their sound is more European oriented. Actually I can tell you that they are heavily influenced by IRON MAIDEN, but they also have other N.W.O.B.H.M. references in their sound. They also reminded me in some of the songs of the good old MERCYFUL FATE. The elements that characterize their sound are definitely the melodies that stick in your mind and the lead guitar themes and solos that give to the songs more depth and detail. Of course the steady rhythm section on the background underlines all these elements. Finally Deborah, the singer, does a very good job and I think that she continues the good tradition of heavy metal female singers like Doro and Leather Leone.

“Metal Immortal” is a good release and the 4 songs which you will find here are equally good. I think people who like traditional heavy metal with fresh ideas will enjoy this release.
