few months after the release of ACID DEATH’s new full length album, the band
decided to re-release some of its older material and more particularly their
debut and sophomore albums. The presentation for their debut “Pieces of
Mankind” is already online so you can check it out if you want and it’s more
thorough since it contains some more information regarding the band and their
past. This one, for their sophomore work, will be more to the point and
entirely concentrated on the album itself.
So,
“Random’s Manifest” was originally released in 2000 through Black Lotus Records
and three years after “Pieces of Mankind”. Although the band has remained loyal
to their progressive death/thrash metal approach the evolution and improvement
on all aspects are more than obvious. This album is more death metal compared
to the previous work showing greater emphasis on the extreme parts of ACID
DEATH’s music. The music is still complex and elaborate but it’s clearer and
more direct if you know what I mean. The comparison to bands like DEATH,
ATHEIST, CYNIC are still valid and can help you understand the path “Random’s
Manifest” follows. A great album no doubt and personally I have to say I like
it a lot more than “Pieces of Mankind”. As with the other re-issue, this too
has been re-mastered by the band’s mastermind Savvas Betinis and also contains
two bonus tracks taken from their “Promo Sample 1998” unreleased tape.
“Random’s Manifest” is an album that every technical death metal enthusiast
should check out!
